BrandWatch MicroTagg™ is an up-converting phosphor material that is readily incorporated into polymeric and other matrices with the truly unique ability to offer dual factor authentication of a product’s authenticity. MicroTagg™ is one of a number of BrandWatch microscopic taggants and is the first material of its kind available to the industry.
When irradiated with energy of a specific wavelength, the MicroTagg™ particles absorb the energy and re-emit it at a different wavelength, which is detected by the company’s proprietary line of affordable handheld detectors. In addition to the visible response it produces when excited by an infrared source this product also delivers an authentication signal, recognizable only by the BrandWatch Reveal™ detector.
This dual factor authentication provides companies with the ability to covertly mark their products with a unique marker that can be detected immediately using a small handheld detector that can “see through the package” for a variety of consumer packaging materials.
